I Don't Know Where the Wind Goes

I don't know where the wind goes
  When it goes were it goes, when the storm's gone.
I don't know where the waves go
   When they crash to the shore and then they move on
I don't know where light goes
   When the sunlight disappears behind Earth's other side
I don't know where the sound goes,
  When it doesn't reach my ears but scatters far and wide.
I don't know why the air doesn't go
  When it should boil right off into outer space. 
I don't know where the fire goes
  When the embers fade to ash and die.
But I do know where the breath in me will go,
  When at the end, down at last I lie.
